Open to anyone with a library card account in good standing.
Present a library card or photo ID at the Media Services desk for games and controllers. When others are waiting, there is a 1-hour limit.
Many customers ask us why we allow gaming in the library. Aren't libraries for learning? Of course they are! According to an article in Library Technology Reports, gaming fosters many different types of learning.
Like television and movies, video games have an age-appropriate rating system.
The library's collection development policy states that we will only make video games available if they meet the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) criteria for content generally suitable for ages 10 and up (Everyone 10+).
Want to play even more games? Kids ages 2-12 are welcome to use the Digital Learning Computers in the Kids Center.
